Optimal storage ensures homogeneity of raw materials

Large-volume storage of ceramic raw material is of paramount importance for the high requirements placed on the end product.

Due to high fluctuations in the pit material quality and the growing use ofvarious components, the mixing capacity of mechanical preparation machinery no longer achieves the required homogeneity of the ceramic body.

Rieter Clay Storage Systems may be used as so-called mixing bed systems. The large volume of material is put into store and taken out according to a certain layer pattern thus achieving the highest possible mixing effect. Moreover, during this long storage period an aging process takes place which – in accordance with the aging behaviour of the individual components – optimizes the plasticity of the body.
